I Have a Dream

Ben is feeling hurt after being called racist names. He is comforted by a kindly stranger who tells him the story of a young man called Martin who had to put up with similar abuse. We hear the story of how he embarked on various campaigns and peace marches that made him famous thorughout the country. Ben then goes with his father to a big rally in Washington DC and is surprised to see his friend, the man who comforted him, is in fact Martin Luther King.

It is South Africa, February 1990. Syabonga and his uncle work at the home of a wealthy white family. They get regular wages, but they have to work long hours and they sleep in a miserable shack. Things have always been like this, for as long as Syabonga can remember. But tomorrow Nelson Mandela, the great black leader, will be released from prison. Maybe, at last, Syabonga's people will get their freedom...It is complete with timeline and glossary.
