This is a story told in simple language for children just beginning to read. The books in the Hedgehog series are intended as a "next step" to follow picture books. Here, a storm knocks down trees and breaks windows. Then, in the silence which follows, the children hear the mewing of an injured cat. The author has written many books for children including "The Road through the Hills".
