World Industrial Robots

by United Nations

Published February 1994
Since its introduction in the 1960s, robot technology has seen impressive development. With declining real prices and continuously improved performance, industrial robots are now widely diffused in industry in many countries. This publication presents global industrial robot statistics in uniform tables enabling consistent country comparisons. Data is collected and transmitted by more than 20 national industrial robot associations and relate to 1991 and 1992. Tables are broken down by applications areas, industrial branches, types of robot and by other techno-economic variables. There are also limited data on production, export and import.
