There is universal consensus that parents have an important role to play in their children's learning. Almost all schools have a policy which states that they involve parents in the life and the work of the school. This book explores practical strategies used in schools both in the UK and the US for involving parents directly in their children's learning. By offering support, advice and resources, teachers can encourage parents and carers to take an active role in promoting and supporting their children's learning and thereby enhance curriculum objectives.
