Drummer Jane McVay moves schools and meets some really talented musicians: Kimmy Carter - guitar player, Savy Leeman - vocalist, and Sandra Farrell - guitarist. Together they form the beginnings of a truly awesome band - The Wild Hearts.
No matter what her friends Jane, Savy and Sandra do to try to boost her confidence, Wild Hearts' guitarist Kimmy Carrier would really rather fade into the background than be noticed.
Sandra thinks she has everything under control, until her real father shows up in town. He's a musician too, but her family tells her he's a loser, her boyfriend tells her she's an idiot and suddenly she starts lying to everyone.
