A "self-help" guide for those who may be contemplating suicide or who have family member or friend who could be involved. The book examines the motives of self-destruction, shows how friends and relatives can notice the tell-tale signs and what they can do, and gives advice about how to cope if a suicide occurs. The relationship of suicide to voluntary euthanasia is also considered.
