Personal Paradise: Caribbean

Open Road is launching our newest line of travel guides with our Best of the Best series, beginning with a look at the Caribbean's top lodgings. The series is geared to high-end travelers looking for one-of-a-kind, phenomenal resort, hotel, and inn experiences. Included are only distinctive, rave hotels.

The book will be similar to Open Road's 'Best Places to Stay' chapter featured in each of our destination guides, and will go in-depth to include much more detail than the usual paragraph or two most guides give to hotel write-ups. Author and Caribbean travel expert Janet Groene will explore the ins and outs of such luxurious haunts as Caneel Bay on St. John, the dazzling Cap Juluca on Anguilla, the breathtaking Spice Island Beach Resort on Grenada, the super-exclusive Raffles Canouan on Canouan in the Grenadines, and many more throughout the entire Caribbean, including the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos. Select cruises and dive resorts will be featured as well. All in all, there will be more than 100 entries, all running at two pages per entry.

Each entry will also feature the following:
oBest of Nearby Area: (local galleries, world class golf course, festival or cultural event);
oBest Room (for view, unusual furnishings);
oBest of the Best Feature (s): (e.g. attracts avid tennis crowd, has best day-sailer fleet, has private cigar club);
oBest for (whom): (e.g. families, singles, honeymooners, adventure travelers);
oBest Dining (best dining room within the resort, best meal outside property, signature dishes at either).
