After her tours of Europe and America, solitary daleswoman Hannah Hauxwell returns to the North of England and talks of some of her favourite spots, from the Dales through Teesdale, Lancashire, Cleveland and Cumbria. The trail takes her from High Force and the Teesdale Roll, back to Mouth Rock Chapel, where her parents were married, to Tan Hill and a meeting with a pistol-packing publican, and up to Ullswater. She enjoys her favourite form of travel on the Lancaster Canal, witnesses the annual tup sale at Hawes, and revels in the festivities of Appleby Fair.
