An officially released short story featuring the characters of the full-length novel, Lost Boys. Written by author Riley Quinn, 'Shadows' is a fast-paced, dark, and exciting introduction into the world of 'Lost Boys'. Sixteen-year-old Leonardo lives deep in the heart of the Darkwoods, along with several dozen other boys; none of whom have any memories of how they got there or how to get out. Leonardo's nights are haunted with dreams of shadows chasing him through the woods. But they're just dreams... right?
In the Darkwoods, nothing is that simple.
Book 1
No Rules.
No Adults.
No Way Out.
Welcome to the Darkwoods.
Deep in a mystical wood, four clans of boys live in the treetops, their story lost in time and their pasts buried with it. Secrets hide among the shadows of a crocodile-infested river, winding through the heart of the forest and beckoning to explore what lays beyond.
Leonardo is a member of Raven Clan, the boldest and fiercest of the four groups, led by his ruthless older brother Aleksander. When clan hostilities build, Aleksander sends Leonardo on the river to defend Raven territory. Leonardo quickly learns that nothing is as it seems, and a series of inexplicable events—including the appearance of a ghostly lion and a mysterious Native girl, who calls Leonardo and his friends ‘Lost Boys’—leads him to question everything he’s ever known about the woods he calls home.
As the hostilities erupt into a fully-fledged war, Leonardo is forced to choose between loyalty and instinct; a choice that will seal the fate of Raven Clan and everyone he cares about.
Book 2
THOUGHT YOU KNEW THE WOODS?
THINK AGAIN.
After breaking away from the Ravens, Leonardo, Moth, Pinch, and the others were supposed to find a new home in the Cove, under the name Lion Clan. But within moments of arriving, they learned that everything they’d been told was a lie.
A group of girls, also calling themselves Lions, occupy the fortress Leonardo planned to lead from. Sirens fill the ocean waters, magic tangles with reality, and a pirate ship prowls the Cove. If Leonardo and his clan want to survive this harsh place, they’ll need to adapt fast. The girls, led by an eccentric leader named Mishti, are barely hospitable. Their world of ceremonies and favours and kidnapping evolves at the whim of the breeze, leaving no one safe.
From sea monsters to new enemies and unpredictable waters, the Cove will push Leonardo and Mishti to their limits. Meanwhile, the Dark continues to grow, killing everything in its path. Can Lion Clan survive not only the Cove but also defeat the nightmare looming over them?
Book 3
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS.
ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?
The Cove has fallen. The woods are collapsing. Leonardo and the survivors return north to where their journey began, in search of allies to fight The Dark-a tangible nightmare in search of blood. But when they reach the Darkwoods, they find it even bleaker than they had feared. Any semblance of clan life has crumbled in the aftermath of the Dark.
Meanwhile, an ancient and bizarre game takes place high above the ground in the canopy of the Redwoods, a distant corner of the woods ruled by a leader who calls himself the general. Leonardo's party is magically whisked to their treetop world, where they face a race against time. The Redwoods kids care more about their rivalries than the impending Dark, and Leonardo is forced to join the game in an effort to dismantle it from the inside.
Every plan is dashed by a new setback, and the Dark draws closer by the day. Leonardo must outthink all of his enemies at once, or the woods-and all of its children-will vanish.
