Greece and EC Membership Evaluated
Published 1 July 1994
Within the context of each member state's national interests, the titles in this series analyze the implementation of EC policy in four areas: economic policy; political and legal policy; social and cultural policy; the future of European integration. This title examines Greece. One of the poorer member states of the EC, Greece has had to make more adjustments to its economy than most in order to survive. The imposition of austerity measures coupled with raging inflation caused a massive political crisis and the current regime comprises an uneasy alliance of Communists and Conservatives. This book looks at the net gains and losses to Greece of its membership of the Community.
