On a visit to his relatives on North Carolina's Outer Banks, Louis, Ray, and Alex Mack stumble onto a scheme by some modern-day pirates to steal priceless artifects from the wreck of a treasure ship.
Participating in a weekend camping trip with the Science and Nature Club in order to earn extra credit, Alex is frustrated when her parents volunteer to chaperone the event, which is further complicated by the antics of Vince and Dave.
