Aimed at A-level students, these exercises provide a new approach to studying Shakespeare. Close analysis of character, themes, imagery and language allows students to develop a thorough understanding of the form and content of the texts themselves. Theatre workshop activities include understanding the plays through performance, deciding how drama is different from other literary forms, and exploring character, themes, imagery and ideas through an active approach to learning. The exercises for students include the study of recurrent imagery with modern analogies.
