Jonah was a great man of faith. God trusted him with delivering his message to the people with the relams of his own people and outside. But Jonah wanted to make sure that God's people remained a close-knit group. He didnt want God's blessings being transferred from his own people. He thought he knew better! Jonah learnt the hard way, dont make the same mistakes. Helpful notes bring the significance of these chapters into focus, and speak clearly to us today. Geared for Growth study materials encourage:

Around 60 AD, imprisoned, Paul dictates to his faithful companion, Tychicus, what has become one of the most loved of Paul's epistles to the Christian church. Tychicus was then to travel to Ephesus (and also deliver another letter to Colossae). The Ephesian letter is then thought to have been circulated around other churches. Why? Well, probably because in Ephesians Paul comes closest to explaining a complete picture of Christianity and how it links with Judaism. Focus on Faith

The Old Testament is, understandably, often not the first port of call for Christians wanting to grow in faith. The Old Testament can seem distant and remote. However if we confine our study to the New Testament alone then we are missing out. The Old Testament has incredible stories and characters who remain well known even in today's secular society. This study shows us how much we can learn from characters, some well-known like Noah and Gideon, others less well known but no less relevant like Caleb and Hezekiah. Helpful notes bring the significance of these chapters into focus, and speak clearly to us today. Geared for Growth study materials encourage:

Grace and Grit

The story of Ruth is one that shows how incredible the grace of God works in bringing one of his people into the fold of believers. The likelihood of this happy result in Ruth's life would be one even internet bookmakers would hesitate to quote odds on! We can take heart from her in seeing God's providence working through our lives too. Esther's story, however, is very different. Esther already knew her Creator but was faced with a difficult situation. One faced by believers in Nazi Germany or anywhere where persecution requires the faithful to speak out. Her guile and courage were an example to her people - and an example to us today. Geared for Growth study materials encourage:
