This volume illustrates the properties of fluid flow which will be used as guidelines for numerical modelling. The first part describes the general basis of fluid mechanics and the interest in specific modelling applications. The second part presents an introduction to numerical methods with cross comparisons between physical and numerical modelling. The text, written in French, is adapted from a series of courses given by the authors.
