This undergraduate text on Congress is written from a rational-choice perspective. It aims to provide students with the basic analytical tools for understanding congressional politics. In addition to introducing the fundamental concepts of rational-choice theory, the text includes empirical examples drawn from classic scholarship on Congress. Several chapters conclude with exercises that should encourage students to use the analytical tools that they have acquired.
