On 14 September 1957, the last Liverpool tram left the Pier Head and the famous 'Green Goddesses' departed for ever, together with one of Britain's most extensive, modern and forward-looking systems. Over 300 comprehensively captioned photographs cover the routes from the City Centre through the inner suburbs to such places as Seaforth, Aintree, Walton, Kirkby, Woolton and Garston.
