Elizabeth I and her Reign contains 122 documents from late Tudor history. There are statutes, poems, chronicles, memoranda, edicts, contemporary biographical sketches etc. The emphasis is on human interest, and questions are intended to encourage students to examine events, opinions and evidence itself at various levels. The introductions to each chapter touch on the historical debate, or controversy and raise questions about the main features of the reign.
