Nick McCord receives a disturbing call from his old friend Tom Walker. Nick takes time off from his job as a Milwaukee Police Detective and goes to his friend's Gill's Point Lodge on the shore of Lake Michigan. Tom tells him about a body found on the beach incased in ice and that the body was that of Elizabeth Samuelson who disappeared over a hundred years ago. He is also told of strange sounds and ghostly figures in the lodge. Finding the tale hard to believe, Nick still agrees to look into it for his friend. Monica Barnhart, a history professor doing research on the history of the lodge, provides Nick with some background. She joins Nick in the search to find out what is going on at the lodge. Murder at Gill's Point is a mystery story and is the first in a series of Nick McCord mysteries yet to be released.

Death of a Flower

Milwaukee police detective Nick McCord is again embroiled in a murder case that leads to other murders. In his investigation he invites Monica Barnhart, a history professor and expert on antique jewelry, to join him in his quest to find the murderer of a young girl. Monica has assisted Nick on another case and has become a special friend. Nick finds he is one step behind the evidence as the killer or killers seem to receive evidence results before him. As the case unfolds, Nick finds himself the number one suspect in the murder of one of the witnesses. As the case seems to turn against him, Nick fears for Monica's safety because people who have knowledge about the case seem to be murdered before they can testify. Monica is the only one Nick can trust, even friends on the police force seem untrustworthy. Death of a Flower is a mystery story and the second in a series of Nick McCord mysteries that are yet to be released.

A Dead Man's Treasure

A Dead Man's Treasure is the third in a series of Nick McCord mysteries. Nick McCord leaves his job the Milwaukee Police Department to go to Monica Barnhart when she tells him of the murder of her boss and friend, Sam Kishler, while he was in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona. Sam was the head of the History Department at the University where Monica worked. Nick meets several of the staff of the department and discovers that a couple of them have a reason to want Sam out of the way. Nick also finds that a close friend of Sam's died on a previous trip to the same region which ended that trip. The man's brother hires Nick and Monica to find out if his brother's death was an accident or murder. Since Nick feels the deaths are connected, he takes the job of finding the answer. With a strange "Treasure Map", Nick and Monica head for the Superstition Mountains in search of Sam's killer and for the mythical Seven Cities of Cibola and the treasure that was supposed to be hidden there.
