LINPAR for Windows
by A.R Djordjevic, etc., Tapan Sarkar, and Roger Harrington
Published December 1995
This is a powerful, Windows-based package allowing fast and accurate analysis of arbitrary planar transmission lines in multilayered dielectrics, including microstrip lines, coupled suspended lines, coupled stripliines, coplanar waveguides and many others. LINPAR for Windows ensures a precise analysis and reliable design of various microwave circuits and fast digital-signal interconnects. It can handle relatively narrow lines on thick substrates, and does not require a zero-thickness assumption, a requirement which is crucial in MMIC design. The software can tackle design problems featuring up to 640 nodes/pulses and 30 conductors. In addition to calculating the primary matrix parameters, LINPAR for Windows also features a general multilayered printed-circuit structure with up to four layers of different dielectrics and 24 signal conductors. The software allows for rapid data input, easy editing and checking of data redefining the transmission-line structure, and automatic selection of the approximation functions. This package is intended for use by electrical and computer engineers, physicists and mathematicians, and those involved in communications and power engineering.
