Book 11

The dating of historic buildings is one of the most important aspects of their study, and one of the most difficult. The knowledge needed to associate particular features with their likely date range can only be acquired through extensive field study of buildings for which dates are known. Initiated by the Historic Buildings Committeee, this handbook contains line-drawing illustrations of a wide range of fittings from dated buildings, with their geographical location, and provides a guide to the dating of early modern buildings.
