Hansel and Gretel

When Hansel and Gretel are abandoned in the forest by their mean stepmother and then captured by an evil witch, they have to think fast to figure out how to get back home. Students will bring this classic folk tale to life by acting out this script! This Reader's Theater script features roles written to match multiple reading levels. Teachers can assign specific roles to their readers based on each student's current reading level, allowing all students to get involved in the same activity and feel successful! Students will gain confidence in their reading fluency through performance, regardless of their current reading ability. While performing with others, students will practice performance, interacting cooperatively, reading aloud, and using expressive voices and gestures to better tell the story. The Little Red Hen

Students will act out this classic story of the Little Red Hen with this leveled script. The Little Red Hen finds grain of wheat and works to turn it into bread. None of the other animals help, but they all want to eat the bread in the end. She doesn't share with the lazy animals, teaching them they have to work for things. Students will act out this story of a bet between the north wind and the sun. The two argue over who is the most powerful and make a bet to see who can get a traveler to remove his cloak with their power. The harsh north wind tries its best with powerful force, but fails. The sun gently shines down warm beams of light, getting the traveler to remove his cloak quickly and showing the north wind that there is more power and strength in gentleness than in force. This story is based on Alice in Wonderland and focuses on when Alice first finds herself in the unusual world of Wonderland. This classroom resource helps students interact cooperatively with peers, speak with meaning, and increase vocabulary and comprehension. Please Don't Feed the Animals

Act out the adventures of some animal friends who are being fed by humans at Lake Tahoe. The animals soon discover that a human diet is not good for them, and learn to meet their own needs.
