Freedom

by Tim Gray

Published 9 November 1990
This book draws on recent research to offer an account of the concept of freedom. It explores four issues: meaning, arguing that there is only one concept but seven conceptions of freedom; justification, examining six arguments defending freedom; judgements about freedom; and aggregation and distribution, discussing variable and zero sum analyses of freedom. Designed to be of use to students of political theory, this book is one in a series aimed at introducing readers to the intricacies of contemporary debates concerning fundamental political issues.
