This 3rd volume in the "Officers and Soldiers" series, shows in extraordinary detail the uniforms of the foot soldiers of Napoleon's Imperial Guard. This is a dream book for the modeler and historian alike and is packed full of full color images, using Histoire & Collection's extremely talented team of graphic artists.

This book traces the glorious history of the elite French cavalry. Through 61 plates of highly detailed uniform illustrations, André Jouineau guides the reader from the first company of carabiniers established within in each regiment—those superior marksmen equipped with a rifle, the gauge of precision par excellence—sought after by Louis XIV in 1690, to the fiery carabiniers of Napoleon III’s Imperial Guard who disappeared in defeat in 1870. The authors’ primary emphasis, however, is given to the First Empire.

The French First Empire has fixed, in its quasi-immortality, the most classical silhouette of the Hussars. In this volume, every hussars regiment of Napoleon's army, from Austerlitz to Waterloo, is depicted in intricate detail.

The hussars uniforms have always been, par excellence, the most brilliant of all. In this new book, the French hussar regiments are reviewed in detail with all their colorful characteristics of the French Revolution and Consulate period.

“The Guard Attacks!”. The Imperial Guard, this glorious phalange, the fruit of the Emperor Napoleon’s greatest attention, was almost an army within the “Grande Armée”. This study of the Guard’s organisation, uniforms and equipment is fully comprehensive.

Vol. I: Discover the uniforms, equipment and weaponry of the Old Guard, often the last resort to be thrown into battle at the decisive moment. The illustrator and researcher, André Jouineau presents here a fully comprehensive overview of all aspects, regiments, etc. of the French Imperial Guard.

Vol. II Continues where vol. I ended with a wealth of images to conclude this fully comprehensive overview of the Imperial Guard.

Seldom if ever have so many Civil War uniforms, all in breathtaking color, been gathered in one volume. 84 color plates depict over 300 infantry uniforms for both North and South, along with flags and equipment. Regulation uniforms are covered, along with musicians, special units, state militias, and the non-regulation uniforms adopted in the field. The war's major battles are also explained with the assistance of 20 new color maps.

Both cavalry and artillery were regarded as elite units during the Civil War, and this is reflected in their uniforms and flags. 84 color plates depict 250 cavalry and artillery uniforms for both North and South, along with flags and equipment.
