Local History Detective S.
4 total works
The National Curriculum for History requires children to study an aspect of local history, and this series has been designed to help pupils to explore buildings in their locality. Every building has a history, and that history offers a comment on the people who designed it, built it, used it and, perhaps, left it to decay. Each book in the series contains over 50 photocopiable sheets which are extensively illustrated to show particular aspects, and feature suggestions for on-site work. Practical work is provided for either individual or group work, and teacher's notes include illustrated historical introductions with information and glossaries of technical terms. There is also guidance to indicate ways in which the Study Unit may be extended to cover other National Curriculum subject areas.
