Nev returns home one evening to find that dear old Gran has given away their life-savings - to a beggar!. And what's more they need to pay the backrent on their cottage - 100 Gold Coins. Armed with sandwiches, Neville saddles up his beloved donkey - Venetia - and clops off to seek the money they owe. Town is his first port of call, . . . But just when he thinks he's struck lucky with reward money from the eccentric Professor Baboom when Nev finds his wallet - the coins are revealed as fake and poor Neville is slung in jail. Nev is in despair, but maybe there's hope. His cellmates, Ratsy and Burk, now they seem like a couple of good chaps . . . Don't they?
