SNAP-SpLD is designed for use by special needs coordinators, learning support and specialist teachers in primary and secondary schools, and in SEN support services, special schools and dyslexia/SEN assessment centres.

SNAP-SpLD involves four steps:

Step 1 (Pupil Assessment Pack): structured questionnaires completed by the class teacher(s) and parents give an initial 'outline map' of the pupil's difficulties.
Step 2 (CD-ROM): the questionnaire responses are collated onto the CD-ROM.
Step 3 (User's Handbook): the photocopiable resource bank of quick diagnostic 'probes' helps give a fuller understanding of specific problem areas.
Step 4 (CD-ROM): the computer-generated profile gives a textured overview of the pupil's difficulties plus specific suggestions for support in school and at home (including personalised information sheets for parents) and resources for practical follow-up.

Now with newly updated information sheets, SNAP Together combines the popular SNAP-SpLD and SNAP-B special needs assessment profiling programs, bringing clear insights to pupils' specific learning difficulties and social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in one package. Ideal for smaller schools, this single-user version uses a common pupil database and provides an Overview facility, giving immediate access to each pupil's complete SNAP assessment record.

Designed for ages 5 to 14+, SNAP Together draws information from home and school. Carefully-targeted questions identify clusters and patterns of difficulties or behaviours, and give a graphic profile which pinpoints core problem areas. Intuitive and user-friendly, SNAP-B brings to social, emotional and behavioural difficulties the insights and practical strategies which the award-winning SNAP-SpLD brings to specific learning difficulties. By identifying each pupil's core problem areas, SNAP-B enables more focused and effective support, at school and at home.

Designed for ages 5 to 16, SNAP-B is a computer-aided package which pulls together information from home and school. Carefully-targeted questions identify clusters and patterns of behaviours, yielding a twelve-strand profile of key problem areas under three broad headings:

- relationship with self - anxiety, implosive anger, etc;
- relationship with peers - attention seeking, aggression, etc;
- relationship with adults - defiance, over-dependence, etc.

For each problem area, SNAP-B generates fully personalised information sheets giving down-to-earth, practical advice and intervention strategies to classroom teachers and to parents. The focus is upon identifying specific personal and social skills a pupil needs to be successful, and how to develop and reinforce these skills, rather than possible underlying causes of any behaviour.

NEW FEATURES of Version 2 include a 'compare' facility enabling you to monitor progress over time, plus updated helpsheets - which can now be age-related to the individual pupil - giving a wider range of strategies, with an emphasis on restorative approaches, where appropriate. The helpsheets also include progress checklists linked to specific SEAL outcomes in each problem area.
