'Animal Kingdom' explores how and why animals are classified in specific groupings. Each title examines the factors that distinguish animal groups, such as, anatomy, life cycle, behaviour and habitat. A range of characteristics, including movement, body covering, defence mechanisms and metamorphosis are displayed using sequential photographs, annotated artwork and lively captions. This title explains classification, the criteria used in classification, and how each class fits into the animal kingdom; and encourages readers to get involved with animal protection and also offers tips on how to get involved.
