Aimed at early years practitioners, this title offers ideas on using clay and play dough as a focus for learning across the early years curriculum. The activities are divided into six chapters with each one covering one of the Government's Areas of Learning for under-fives. These are language and literacy, mathematics, personal and social development, knowledge and understanding of the world, and physical and creative development. All the activities have step-by-step instructions explaining what materials are required, and what to do. Tips on areas such as storage, making links with home, using adult helpers, observation and assessment are included along with six photocopiable activity sheets which provide extension and reinforcement ideas.
