A wide variety of activities - from rhymes and poems to odd-one-outs and crosswords to playing games such as I-spy and sound lotto - are the basis for this collection of photocopiable sheets aimed to develop young children's skills in understanding and using phonics to aid reading and writing skills. The book is organized into three main areas that utilize whole words and sentences to address the beginnings of words i.e. initial letter sounds and consonant blends and digraphs, such as bl, ch, and sh; the middles of words including medial vowels digraphs and dipthongs, such as ai, er and oo; common letter patterns found at the ends of words, such as ed, ng and ck.
