In line with the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Education for Citizenship and the Teaching of Democracy in Schools, Citizenship in Focus is designed to encourage political literacy, social and moral responsibility, and community involvement. This volume encourages students to develop a sense of global citizenship by engaging with issues ranging from political freedom and economic injustice to the rights of the disabled.
