Developed for students taking GCSE courses in British social and economic history, this textbook examines the rise and fall of Britain as an industrial power since 1700 and explores how the lives of the British have been changed as a result. The 200 coursework studies incorporated in the text aim to develop particular historical skills or concepts, and can be used as the basis of a flexible scheme of work for two years of GCSE preparation.
