"Taking Turns" books cater for paired reading - a young child reading with either an adult or an older child with a reading age of around 8+. The fluent reader reads the main part of the story on the left-hand page which has an essential part of the narrative in a larger, clear typeface. The books are illustrated and the pictures give strong visual clues to the text. The reading level of the young child's text equates to the White and Pink levels of the "New Way" reading scheme.
