Passwords to English is an innovative English course for students aged 11-14. Many students without specific special needs underattain in English, with problems caused by lack of motivation, lack of interest, or more general ability problems. Passwords to English provides bright, motivating materials focusing on the basics of the curriculum to help students catch up and achieve at an average or above level. Passwords to English includes materials for visual, audio and kinaesthetic learners. It covers all text types required by the Framework for Teaching English, offering texts expecially chosen to be of interest to even the most reluctant student, and targets those objectives identified by the government as critical indicators of success. It offers clearly structured lessons, building from short activities to extended tasks. Key literary and grammar terms are explained clearly in handy Passwords panels on the page, and an appealing and varied visual presentation of information and tasks - including many specially commissioned cartoons - will help with motivation.
