Author Biographies

Pam Taylor is Chair of Examiners for Edexcel International GCSE English Language and English Literature and Chief Examiner for Edexcel GCSE English Language and English Literature, having been a Chief Examiner for 15 years. She had a long teaching career, including being Head of a large English Department for seventeen years. Since leaving teaching, she has worked as examiner, trainer, writer, scrutineer and consultant. Her experience of running courses for teachers and students is extensive, both in the UK and internationally. She has been involved in writing a number of textbooks including English for London Examinations and Aim High in Edexcel GCSE English.

Roger Addison is the Chief Examiner for Edexcel International GCSE English Language, and has been a Senior Examiner for Edexcel for many years, including being Principal Moderator and Examiner for legacy GCSE. He taught English in Kenya for four years and was Head of English for the subsequent thirty years. He co-authored Aim High in Edexcel GCSE English.

David Foster is the Principal Examiner for International GCSE English Language. He has been involved in external examining for over 20 years, and in the past has been Principal Examiner for post-16 English and GCSE English Literature. He is an approved trainer for the examination board and has delivered training in Europe and Asia. He was a teacher and Head of Department for 16 years before entering the Local Authority Educational Improvement service. He qualified as an Ofsted Inspector in 2003, and has also been a school governor for over 20 years and a Chair of Governors for over 10 years.
