The Buddha was born in India about 2,500 years ago. He spent many years trying to find out what caused people to suffer, and how to end suffering. Eventually he found the answers and became 'Enlightened'. For the rest of his life he travelled, preached and taught, giving rise to the religion that is now known as Buddhism. This book tells you about the life of the Buddha, who he was and what he did. It explains how he found 'the Middle Way', what he taught his followers, and about the holy books that contain his teaching.
