This is a poetry anthology compiled specifically to cover National Curriculum requirements at GCSE/Standard Grade. One section contains an anthology of ten featured poets which provides six key poems by each of the six contemporary and four pre-20th century poets. Another section provides a thematic anthology of poems by many contemporary and pre-20th century poets. The teaching section provides pupils of all abilities with guidance on ways into even the most complex poems. Another section offers help with the skill of comparing and contrasting poetry. Providing reading, writing, speaking and listening activities, as well as opportunities for written coursework and oral assessment, "New Touchstones" offers all the materials needed to span the study of KS 3. Poetry by Chaucer, Tennyson, Keats, Edward Thomas, D.H. Lawrence and Ted Hughes is featured.
