Each establishment has been personally visited by the authors and chosen for its particular charm and character and for the exceptional friendliness of the owners. Our approach is always to emphasize the atmosphere of a place and how much fun it is to stay there, rather than merely to list the facilities offered. This means there is a huge variety in types of accommodations. We feature B&B's, guest houses, wilderness lodges, townhouses... even boats and lighthouses. There are great places to stay at both ends of the spectrum.
