This report provides an examination of home owners' attitudes and behaviour towards investment in the repair and maintenance of their homes including the motivations to undertake work and the constraints on what people do. It examines how owners identify and tackle problems of disrepair, and the difficulties they face in organizing work. With reducing public resources there is an increasing emphasis on encouraging private investment in housing repair and the report should provide insights into the factors which determine home owner repair and maintenance behaviour.
