It gives an account of the events that led up to the murder of Francis Rattenbury and the subsequent trial of his wife and the family's odd-job man. Lord Havers co-authored "The Poisoned Life of Mrs Maverick" while Peter Shankland wrote "Byron of the Wager", "Beware of the Heroes: Admiral Sir Sydney Smith's War against Napoleon" and co-authored "The Royal Baccarat Scandal" with Lord Havers.
