It first discusses the different habitats in which mushrooms are found, the times of year when different species grow and information on equipment, storing and preserving, followed by an illustrated guide in which the features and habitats of the most popular edible mushrooms are described. The recipes range from savoury snacks and fillers to to full dinner party meals and party food, and include Creamy Mushroom Soup, Risottos and Pancakes. The final chapter illustrates the poisonous and potentially deceptive species that the mushroom picker is most likely to come across.
