One hot summer’s day, when Mole is out exploring, he discovers a newcomer to the forest – a newcomer called Mouse! The two quickly become friends, but Mole isn’t keen to introduce Mouse to the other forest animals. In fact, he doesn’t want to share her with anyone. Meanwhile, Rabbit, Squirrel and Hedgehog are wondering why they haven't seen Mole for so long. When they finally discover his secret, they're so pleased to meet Mouse that Mole realizes it’s much nicer for everyone to be friends. With beautiful illustrations, this story is a celebration of friendship and why it’s always good to share.

It's autumn, and the weather is so awful that Mole hasn't been able to visit Rabbit for days. He's just beginning to worry about her, when suddenly he thinks of a clever plan. He doesn't have to go out in the rain at all – he can dig a tunnel! With his friends Squirrel and Hedgehog behind him, Mole digs his way into Rabbit’s burrow and finds her in bed with a terrible cold. Hedgehog and Squirrel dash off to get presents for her, but Mole has already brought her the best gift of all – he's brought her her friends.
Meet the little mole who thinks a lot and join him on his quest to bring down the moon.
"Hot-diggerty! Whatever's that?" exclaims Mole as he burrows out of the ground one night and catches sight of the moon. He thinks it's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen and he wants it, so he sets about trying to pull it down – to no avail. When all his efforts prove to be in vain, he suddenly notices the moon's in a puddle at his feet and reaches to pick it up and breaks it. Poor Mole is inconsolable, until he is shown that the moon is not broken at all, but just as beautiful as ever, hanging in the sky like a bright silver coin. And it's not as near as it looks!

Mole thinks his burrow is small and dark and dull. So he sets off to find somewhere big and bright and beautiful instead. His friends are full of ideas, but finding a new home that is just right is, as Mole discovers, no simple matter!
