It's Angelina's birthday and there's going to be a party. But when Angelina breaks her bicycle while racing her best friend, Alice, she thinks the day will be ruined. Angelina is upset, but her parents encourage her to save up for a new one by doing jobs for people in the village. The day of the party arrives and Angelina gets a wonderful birthday surprise - a brand-new bicycle!

Katharine Holabird went to Bennington College in Vermont, USA, and spent three years as a journalist in Italy. She has been writing the Angelina books since 1983 and now lives in London with her family.

Helen Craig is one of the UK's most successful children's illustrators. She became an apprentice photographer aged sixteen and went on to set up her own studio. Helen has illustrated over sixty children's books. She lives in Cambridge.

Miss Lilly's Ballet School has been invited to perform for the Princess of Mouseland, and Angelina hopes to be a prima ballerina. But disaster strikes and she is only given a minor role. Angelina is very disappointed - but then an unexpected turn of events leads to a happy ending after all!

Angelina and Henry

Angelina and cousin Henry go camping in the Big Cat Mountains with Anglina's Uncle Louie. The two little Mouselings get lost and soon it is dark and stormy and they think they can see Big Cat himself. They eventually find Uncle Louie and promise never to go off on their own again. Ages 3+.

When Miss Lilly asks Angelina the mouse to be a helper in the beginner ballet class, Angelina feels very grown-up and decides to give up her babyish rag doll, with unexpected results.

Imagine Angelina's delight when she wins two tickets to the gala performance of Cindermouse...and then her disappointment as friend after friend has received an invitation to something else that day. At the last minute, however, Angelina is called by the Royal Ballet's director to fill in for an injured ballerina and she gives her two tickets to her parents. There are six envelopes in all with cards and letters to open up and read as well as a special lucky star pendant in the last envelope.
