Panzer II & Luchs

by Lukasz Gladysiak and Samir Karmieh

Published 28 February 2017

This publication's aim is to bring together current knowledge on Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. H and Ausf. J tanks. During his research, the author has used literature in Polish, German and English. In order to provide the reader with selected episodes from the frontline service of these vehicles, the author also referred to memoirs and other archive sources. Dozens of photographs complete the book, including many taken during active service of both variants of the tank or shortly after its completion, come from Kagero Publishing House Archive based in Lublin, Bundesarchiv-Militärarchiv in Freiburg and private collections. There are also many unpublished photographs of Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. J tanks used by troops of the 10th SS Panzer Division Frundsberg, found in April 2011 in Kluczewo near Stargard, currently undergoing a major renovation under the supervision of specialists from the Museum of Polish Arms (Muzeum Oreza Polskiego) in Kolobrzeg. These are supplemented by three-dimensional digital illustrations of complete vehicles and their details.

Germans had been produced many specialistic armoured vehicles. Storm tanks are among them. They were used as infantry support heavy vehicles. They destroyed buildings, fortifications, barricades etc.STURMPANZER IV BRUMMBAR built on PANZER IV chassis was one of them. It was armed with 150 mm StuH storm howitzer. From 1943 till 1945 BRUMMBAR took part in fights on all fronts. The publication is illustrated with unique 3D renderings by Samir Karmieha that show a lot of detail not only the external details of the vehicle, but also its inside. The book was also enriched with excellent modeling plans Krzysztofa Muchy that satisfy even the most demanding readers.

Highly detailed publication covering the extensively used World War II German medium tank, Panzer III AUSF. J/L/M, now revised and expanded.

The Panzer III was intended as the primary battle tank of the German forces. It outclassed most of the tanks of the time, in that it had a three man turret, which greatly improved effectiveness in battle. However, when it initially met the KV and T-34 tank designs it proved to be inferior in armour and gun power. To meet the growing need to counter these tanks, the Panzer III was upgunned with a longer, more powerful 50-millimetre (1.97 in) cannon and received more armour.

Containing dozens of archive black and white and colour photos, including close-up and walkaround shots and colour artwork profiles, this is an ideal reference for both the enthusiast and modeller, with masking foil included.

Jagdpanzer Iv L/48

by Krzysztof Mucha and George Parada

Published 5 January 2010
Highly detailed publication covering the World War II Jagdpanzer IV L/48 – a tank destroyer based on the Panzer IV chassis. The almost-vertical front hull plate was replaced by sloped armour plates and internally, the layout was changed to accommodate the new superstructure, moving the fuel tanks and ammunition racks. Since the Jagdpanzer lacked a turret, the engine which originally powered the Panzer IV's turret could be eliminated.

The new superstructure had 80 mm thick sloped armour, which gives a much greater armour protection than a vertical armour of 100 mm. To make the manufacturing process as simple as possible, the superstructure was made out of large, interlocking plates which were welded together.

Containing dozens of archive black and white and colour photos, including 15 pages of close-up and walkaround shots, and 4 pages of colour artwork profiles, this is an ideal reference for both the enthusiast and modeler, with free decals included.
