This is an autobiography of Karan Singh. The first part of the book covers the years up to 1953, describing the momentous political events in Kashmir and its accession into India as the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The second part of the book describes the China and Pakistan wars, as well as the administrations of Nehru and Shastri. The work is not just a description of the author's political career, but is also a record of his personal and spiritual development.
Initially published on hardback in two separate volumes, Dr Karan Singh's widely acclaimed autobiography is now made available as a single volume, illustrated paperback with a new, lengthy preface specially written for this edition.
