The Phonics Handbook introduces teachers to all the Read Write Inc. resources for teaching reading, writing and spelling. It should be used in conjunction with the Speed Sounds Lesson Plans handbook, which provides detailed guidance on how to teach children to read and write sounds and words. Blueprint lesson plans are provided for teaching the Ditty activities, using the Storybooks for reading and comprehension, and consolidating children's knowledge by using the Get Writing! books. Suggested timetables and instructions on partner work are also included.
