Designed to offer non-specialist teachers a wide range of open-ended photocopiable activities for specified levels of ability. This science book is one of a series which will provide support for any scheme of work being used in the school, either as part of structured session or as educationally sound time fillers. It is an introduction to forces and their effects, including gravity and friction, sliding, rolling, falling and bouncing and is designed for children at Key Stage 1 based on the learning requirements of AT1 scientific investigation and AT4 physical processes.
Covering the "Life Processes and Living Things" attainment target of the science National Curriculum and complementing the "Human Body Essentials" title, this book features 28 photocopiable activities on the subject of plants and animals. It is aimed at National Curriculum Key Stage two and Scottish Levels C-E. The accompanying teachers' notes provide a suggested extension activity to keep the activity open-ended, background information, explain the purpose of each activity, give general advice on classroom organization and safety issues, suggest follow-up ideas and highlight links with the Scottish 5-14 Guidelines and the Northern Ireland science curriculum.
