Chloe can hardly believe it when she lands a summer job mucking stalls at one of the best dude ranches in Colorado. Things only get better when she meets Stephen. He's funny, friendly, and hardworking-a welcome antidote to Chloe's daily doses of Zach, the cocky, self-satisfied fellow ranch hand.
When a trailer full of new colts arrives for training, Chloe is given the job of caring for them. She's looking forward to spending time with Stephen, but then Zach is assigned to help with the training and Chloe's plans for moonlight rides and watching sunsets are squashed.
But as the summer continues, Chloe starts to see a different side of Zach as he works with the horses-and she starts to wonder if maybe she judged him too harshly. Could there be something between them after all?

Chloe has the best almost-boyfriend ever. Trevor is smart, talented, witty, and good-looking. Basically, he’s the perfect guy for her—except for one tiny detail. He lives hundreds of miles away. Chloe met Trevor at music camp when they were kids and was so excited when they reconnected in an online music forum a few months ago. And they’ve been flirting non-stop ever since.
Chloe’s boy-crazy best friend Vanessa thinks it’s the most romantic thing she’s ever heard, though her other best friend, Kazuo, isn’t so sure. Turns out Kaz actually has a crush on her! Chloe can’t imagine her life without him, but she’s never thought of him that way. Still, Kaz talks Chloe into giving him a chance and going to the big school dance together. Chloe is almost ready to agree when she gets the most amazing news—Trevor is coming for a visit!
But when Trevor shows up, things don’t go quite as well as Chloe was expecting, and by the time she realizes her old camp buddy has changed—and that he might not be Mr. Perfect (for her) after all—Kaz has already asked Vanessa to the dance. Did Chloe just miss her chance at true love?
Corinne is looking forward to taking summer classes at a local art studio where a famous artist-in-residence will be teaching. She’s always wanted to focus more on her art, and winning the local competition (and grand prize) would be a perfect way to end the summer.
Her dreams become muddled when she finds out she has to work with Matthew—the arrogant, annoying jock whose postmodern style seriously clashes with her classic aesthetic.
But what she expects to be a total nightmare turns out to be something different when she finds that maybe, just maybe, Matthew isn’t as bad as she thought. Underneath that jock exterior, he might be someone Corinne could tolerate. Or possibly even like.

Jacob convinces Nell to go with him on a series of cliche camp adventures, in the hopes that she'll begin to see herself through his eyes.
As his plan starts to work, Nell slowly beings to fall back in love with music--and fall for Jacob--but is he falling for her, too?
