Old Enough to be Used. Young Enough to beBroken.
Sassinak was twelve when theraiders came. That made her just the right age: old enough to be used, youngenough to be broken. Or so the slavers thought. But Sassy turned out to be alittle different from your typical slave girl. Maybe it was her unusual physicalstrength. Maybe it was her friendship with the captured Fleet crewman. Maybe itwas her spirit. Whatever it was, it wouldn't let her resign herself to the lifeof a slave. She bided her time and watched for her moment. When it finally came,she escaped.
But that was only thebeginning for Sassinak. Now she's a fleet captain with a pirate-chasing ship ofher own, and only one regret in her life: not enoughpirates.

Book 2
Desperate circumstances forced Lunzie Mespil, Healer (a combination of doctor and psychiatrist) to abandon the starship on which she was a passenger. Since she made it to a lifeboat, Lunzie is not too worried; she will spend a month or two in cryogenic stasis awaiting inevitable rescue, and then proceed with her life. Only it's not a month or two. Lunzie waits for sixty-two years before she is finally picked up. How Lunzie deals with being reborn to a world she never made, a world that has grown strangely dark and dangerous during her long sleep, is the story of The Death of Sleep.
Generation warriors Lunzie, Fordeliton, Dupaynil, Angar, and Sassinak strive to save the galaxy from planet pirates and worse.
