Travelling by night, Zak Nine and Erro are following a shadowy figure until the mysterious stranger disappears into a cave. The boys decide to follow. Inside they find a maze filled with priceless gems, along with a rough band of escaped criminals. Things go from bad to worse when a squad of Alcatraz guards arrives on the scene. When the guards start shooting their laser blasters, suddenly nobody is safe! Will Zak and Erro escape the deadly storm of laser fire, or will they be trapped in the endless dark forever?

Zak Nine and Erro have come up with a brilliant plan to escape. They'll simply hide on board a prison ship and ride it to freedom on another planet! Unfortunately, the boys don't get far when the ship docks at one of Planet Alcatraz's metallic moons. The hollow sphere is magnetic, and the only way to walk on it is by wearing special magnetic boots. The boys are soon discovered and are forced to flee. But how will they escape when they're stuck floating inside a giant metal ball?
During their last adventure, Zak Nine and Erro found a mapping device in a crashed prison ship. Following the map, the boys make their way to the Plateau of Leng, a vast desert on Planet Alcatraz. Other than an occasional giant scorpion, the boys seem to be safe on the endless sands until they spring a deadly trap! Huge rocky walls spring up from beneath the sand, grinding against each other and forming into walls, passageways and stone cages. Will the boys be fast enough to avoid getting trapped forever on this hot, desert plain?
Zak Nine and Erro have escaped! But now they find themselves lost in a vast forest of alien birds and deadly plants. Things get even worse when they hear strange buzzing sounds just above the treetops attack drones! The prison guards are searching for the boys using a flock of remote bots, armed with flame-throwers and sleeping gas. Will the boys outwit the bots and find a way off Planet Alcatraz? The exotic flora and fauna just might provide a solution to the high-tech hazards hunting our heroes.
