Woodturning Traditional Folk Toys

A collection of projects for turning a range of classic and unusual wooden toys. Ideas are drawn from the folk traditions of Germany, Czechoslovakia, Russia and Poland, among others. A German nutcracker soldier, a jumping jack figure and a pull-string spinning top, plus more unusual toys like a giant-nosed Czechoslovakian human-head trumpet are among the projects. All the toys featured can be made with a standard lathe and simple tools.
